Synopsis: Brother Chandler (May 9, 1930-July 6, 2020) was a beloved member of the Lord’s church—faithful, always encouraging, and supportive. His infectious smile and delightful sense of humor brought joy to friends, family, and fellow Christians.
Every once in a while along our pathway in life, we enjoy the wonderful opportunity of meeting folks who are very special. We learn to know them, and we grow to love them.
More often than not, that special person sometimes leaves us. The days of their years are taken away, and they go to the reward that they have looked forward to for so many years.
E. M. Chandler, my dear friend, and brother in Christ, left this world on Monday, July 6, 2020. He was a man that I knew for over forty years, a man that loved his Creator and sought to do that which was righteous in His sight.
It is my hope that we will meet one day again, for I will dearly miss him. I would like to dedicate this poem to his memory.
Goodbye My Friend
We seldom know what to say and scarcely what to do
In dealing with the loss of a friend, such as you
Times like these are very hard
but it helps when we pray,
Especially, during the time
when a loved one flies away.
Our hearts are deeply saddened
and our eyes filled with tears,
But, through it all, we grasp
for the hope that quiets all fears.
Please know we’ll not forget you
as we say our last goodbye,
For we’ll keep you in our memory
. . . as the years go by.
