COVETOUSNESS

One of the sins of which the Bible frequently warns is the sin of covetousness (Col. 3:5; Lk. 12:15i. But did you ever meet a covetous person? I mean, did you ever meet a person who admitted he was covetous? I would guess that you have not.
One Catholic priest who had spent 42 years listening to confessions said that covetousness was about the only sin he never heard confessed. But covetousness is what keeps a man from giving what he ought to give, and covetousness will keep that man out of heaven. Paul said, "No covetous man hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God" (Eph. 5:5). Are you covetous?
